Insulin inhaled via the lungs that begins to work in approximately 15 minutes. Has a peak between 90 and 120 minutes and is usually no longer active after 6 to 8 hours. Used to replace bolus of insulin that the pancreas usually makes in response to foods or to correct increased glucose levels.
