Hypoglycemic Prevention & Treatment
Ingested products used to prevent hypoglycemia contain slow-acting carbohydrates and maintain a steady stream of glucose over a long period. They may contain protein and/or fats to help slow down absorption. Products for treatment of hypoglycemia contain rapid-acting carbohydrates, usually simple carbohydrates that can be ingested quickly. Condition prevention products do not contain protein or fat that would slow activity. For severe hypoglycemia, an injectable alternative is available.
