Non-invasive diagnostic technology that uses laser beam, ultrasound or a probe applied to a specific site on the skin to measure blood flow velocity and determine segmental blood pressures, including ankle bradial index (ABI). Indicated to test for vascular disease in both deep and superficial vessels as part of the wound assessment process or to determine wound-healing potential. Available in portable and pocket designs and with a software package that provides printouts and computer reporting. May be part of a procedure billed using a CPT code.
